I am researching my family tree and would love to know more information about my Husbands relatives from this area of Birmingham. Our story begins with Arthur Edward Price born 1876 in Aston to Parents George Price (1851 Aston) and Ellen Holliday (1851 Derby). Arthur was an electrical instrument maker by trade. He married Jane Jones (1875 Aston) daughter of William Jones (1842 Flintshire) and Jane Bryan (1845 Wolverhampton). After their marriage at St James Church Ashted in 1906, the couple moved to the Manchester Area. They adopted a son when it was thought that Jane could not conceive. In November 1925 a miracle happened and their daughter Gladys Price was born in Monton Eccles manchester, leading eventually to her daughter Glenys and her Son Michael, my husband.
Anyhow, back to the Aston connections ::) I would love to hear from any asociated with the following Price family members - however, small your little snippet may be - please contact me. I do have all the census information from 1851-1901 but if anyone has 1841 census info this would be fab :D

1841 census for the Price family
George Price, age 20, glass blower
Elizabeth Price, age 20
Emma Price age 4
John Price age 2
William Price age 6 months
The children all have "Y" in born in county box, George and Elizabeth look like they have UK in their box.
Any other opinions on this?

Hi, I just stumbled across this from google.
I notice that your George Price is a glassblower and from Staffs... I checked the 1871 and saw that he gives his birthplace there as Little Heywood.
I have a William Price who also gives his birthplace (on SOME of the censuses!) as Little Heywood or Colwich, Staffs, although I think I have found his baptism in Birmingham... to William and Sarah Price, William being a glassblower which seems to match my William's marriage cert. There is a brother called Elijah, which ties with my William having a son called Elijah. William was born Dec 1820 and Elijah 1822.
There is a bapt in Colwich 1818 of a George son of William and Sarah, but confusingly there's also a William bapt in Colwich in Jan 1820. I need to check occupations if they are recorded, and whether this slightly older William died. There is a chance that that could be your George though.
I'd love to know how your research has progressed!

I've just found out that George Price bapt 1818 in Colwich was the son of William and Sarah Price of Little Heywood, father a Labourer in the glass trade.
Very probably your George!

Hey, me again :)
Also just noticed that your George is living on Lister Street in 1841 - this is where my William and his sons William and Elijah were living at least in the 1820s when the sons were baptised. There was possibly also a daughter Elizabeth. I still don't know for sure that George was related.

The image does appear to read UK for George and Elizabeth, I assume this could be the enumerator's abbreviation for unknown.
