Hello Fellow Rootschatter,
I've seen your posts on the Shadforh family, and I wonder if yours are connected to these?
John Shadforth m 1691 to Margaret Smith in Pittington, Co Durham
Their children (all born in Pittington)-
Thomas b1692
George b1694
William b1696
Margaret b1699
Robert b1702
Mary b1707
Mary married Anthony Simie (b1706 in Sunderland) on 4 Feb 1732 in Durham city.
I've found two children of theirs, both born in Sunderland -
John Shadforth Simie b1733 Margaretta Simie b1734
I'm researching my own Simey family, but I'm also interested in family connected by marriage.
Grateful for any info.
Regards,
Emmy

Hello Emmy
I am not sure where my Shadforth's came from prior to the mid 1700's. The oldest ancestor I have on this branch is Robert Shadforth b. C1722 who married Jane Shepard in Hartlepool St Hilda's in 1754.
There maybe a possible connection but I could not be certain about this. I do know that the Shadforth's had a strong connection to the church in Hartlepool and that they held high and upstanding careers within that area.
Regards
Brian
