Title: Taylor........Burton-on-Trent
Post by: Gilld on Friday 17 September 04 07:19 BST (UK)
Thomas Taylor  born c 1852  in  Cambs, wife Elizabeth born c 1849 in Tutbury

In 1881 Thomas was in BoT, a Maltster living at 34 Moseley St  BoT
In 1891 they were at 36 Clarence St  BoT
In 1901 they were still living at 36 Clarence St  BoT.

Thomas was my great grand father's brother, my grand father's sister Rachel was born at BoT in 1873, (mum must have been visiting from Cambs !!!) ;)

Is anyone else researching this family?

Gill :)

Hi Frances

Yes this is the one I know lots about my Grand father's family
Barzillai's father was James Taylor c 1785 who married Honor Norbury 2/02/1812, Honor was Baptised  at Wooddittton 5/08/1787

I have a copy of the marriage cert  for Barzillai and Susan 10/10/1840 at Kirtling

I also have the marriage cert for WilliamTaylor, the Thomas Taylor's brother, William was my grand father's father.

Have you connections with the Taylors of Kirtling ?

Gill :)
Title: Re: Taylor........Burton-on-Trent to America?

Giles,
Did any of your Taylors come to America?
I have a 4th great grandfather named Barzillia Taylor.
I am descended from his son  Pleasant. They were
in Tennessee, and Indiana in 1840's. I know this
is probably vague info. I have more stored away,
and would appreciate your answer to the first question,
as these are both very unusual given names.
I just became a member so I don't know what to
expect, if you get this, I suppose that this website
will send me notice of a message?  ::)
Thank you,
Janet Milburn

Hi Gilld,

My paternal grandfather was Leonard Frank Taylor (b.1923), his father Charles Taylor (b.1878) and his father William Taylor (b.1850). Could it be possible we have connections? I also replied on a thread a few hours ago about the Emmings family - the link being Charles Taylor who married Elizabeth Emmings. If there are indeed connections here, I would so appreciate any help you could provide to find further information on the Taylor and Emmings families.
