Hi, I'm looking for any information about the John family from Roch. My great-Grandfather Henry John was born in Roch 8th Nov 1879 to Samuel and Martha John. I am looking for any information about Samuel and backwards if possible. I know that Samuels father was also called Henry and that Henry's wife was Elizabeth but are these peoples on any one elses lists?
Thanks in advance
Rich

Hi Richard78,
Just wondering have you gotten any further past your Henry John. My gg grandfather was James John born 1831 born in Pembrokeshire, parish unknown, his father was William John. Don`t know if James had any siblings so just checking to see if you have gotten any more information just in case we have a link somewhere with our John descendants. ;D ;D

Hi Johngirl,
There are a few James John in my tree but none of them match with the 1831 date or with the parents. Do you know James' mother's name? As I had a quick look on the 1841 census and there are a few James John's born in and around the 1830 date and one of them has a William for a father and several of them have no fathers (presumably working away from home and sending wages back to the wife)
Sorry I couldn't be more help

Hi Richard78,
Sorry but I have no idea at all what James` mothers name was. This is my brickwall. On James` marraige certificate it has his father as William John a Collier by trade and mother Unknown. Surely William , James` dad would have known who James` mother was. How dumb could they be. Maybe she had died or James` mother was seperated from William who knows but why couldn`t they put her name on the marriage certificate. This as you can see is making it very hard to find the right James John. I only know that he was born in Pembrokeshire but where in Pembrokeshire I have no idea. I have also seen quite a few James Johns` born in that year but which one is mine? I just thought I would see how much further you had gone down your John line to see if we had a connection.Thankyou Richard78 for trying to help me. Maybe one day I will get onto the right track with my John family. I have tried the Pembrokeshire record office but they also couldn`t find any information for me. My cousin has even been to Pembrokeshire but couldn`t find anything either. Never mind I will probably never knock down this brick wall on James John.
