Does anyone have any information about the Bullock family in Castlmorton prior to 1819?
My relative Samuel Bullock was born in Castlemorton in c1819 and married Mary Ann Dyer of Cheltenham area in the 1840's. Samuel's farther Peter Bullock was also born in Castlemorton in 1782 and married Margaret Freeman in 1818.
I cannot find any information about siblings or offspring of Samuel and his father Peter nor can I find any information regarding earlier generations.
If anyone has any information they can share with me I would be most grateful.
Kind Regards
Gareth

Gareth,
Your Bullock family can be found in the IGI (International Genealogical Index). They have extensive birth and marriage records for Castlemorton going back to the 1600s. Start here:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyWorcester.htm
Find the Castlemorton listing. To do a search, click on the code number next to the year range that you would like to search (codes starting with C are christenings, codes starting with M are marriages). A new search screen will open. Type Bullock in the box and hit search. This will give you a list of all the Bullocks christened or married in Castlemorton during the relevant years. The christening records include parents names so you can find the siblings by matching the parents names. The marriage records do not include parents names, but do give the maiden name of the bride.
If you need an explanation of the IGI and the batch number system, use the "click here to go back to the main page" link on the site above.
The IGI is simply an index, created by transcription. So there may be errors in it and the original record may contain more info (like father's occupation). If you get the chance its nice to order the parish records yourself on microfilm and verify all the info.
Good luck!

Hi,
I have only just come across this post, and was just wondering if you had come across these names in your research.
My GGGGrandfather Richard Morgan married a Hannah Bullock (in Powick - can't remember the date off hand). Hannah was christened on 08 MAY 1796 in Castlemorton, whose parents were William & Elizabeth Bullock.
I am at work at the moment, so don't have any more information, but would be very interested to hear if you have come across any of these names!
Kind regards,
Chui

Hi Chui,
Hannah Bullock is in my tree born 1796 in Castlemorton. I have her details from the IG Index. The information I am about to give has only just recently been found and as yet I have not verified the data.
Hannah is the sister of my ancestor Peter Bullock b. 1782 in Castlemorton. There were many siblings as follows,
Richard Bullock (C)hristened 20/05/1775
Elizabeth B (C) 22/01/1777
William B (C) 23/05/1779
Peter B (C) 12/05/1782 my ancestor
Rowland B (C) 14/06/1785
Thomas B (C) 04/01/1787
Ann B (C) 17/04/1788
Mary B (C) 20/12/1789
Sarah B (C) 14/07/1791
Henry B (C) 23/12/1792
Hannah B (C) 08/05/1796 you ancestor
William B (C) 26/12/1802
Their parents were as you mentions
William Bullock (C) 29/10/1749
Elizabeth Clinton (C) 28/04/1754
Williams siblings were
Richard B (C) 09/06/1748
Thomas B (C) 01/03/1750
Ann B (C) 08/11/1752
Ann B (C) 29/11/1754 These two Ann's could either be a transcription error or due to the young death of the former.
Elizabeth B (C) 12/04/1756
John B (C) 05/05/1758
Samuel B (C) 12/04/1759
Samuel B (C) 01/05/1768 These two Samuel's could either be a transcription error or due to the young death of the former.
Williams Parents were
Richard Bullock (C) 14/03/1717
Hannah Stuart (C) 03/02/1722
Richards siblings were
William B (C) 30/01/1714
Ann B (C) 20/02/1724
Richards Parents were
William Bullock
Anne Pewtress married 04/12/1707
This is were my trail goes cold since William and Ann were not apparently born in Castlemorton but possilby in neighbouring villages. Anne Pewtress possibly comes from Ledbury in Hereford only a few miles from Castlemorton.
I hope this helps. Please do let me know how you get on and if you find any more news about the Bullocks which incidentaly is my mothers family line. Also if you have a Genesconnected account look me up and I will give you access to my tree so you can see the details.
Regards
Gareth.

Our tree has a Sarah Bullock born 1794 married to a Thomas Scrivens, 10 Oct 1820, but our Sarah is listed as Upton on Severn, not too far away though.

Hi Mike,
I have just had a look through the information given to me by thomasg and our ancestors had a sister called Sarah baptised 14/07/1791, unfortunately I have not had time to look into the Bullocks as yet, and thomasg does not have a marriage for her.
Do you know the names of your Sarah Bullocks siblings or parents?
Chui

No sorry - she just popped up as a wife.

Subject : Guarlford Realty
Mike,
Your inquiry has been forwarded to me.
Guarlford Realty Company, which built the house at 6344 Wydown, was one of several real estate and development companies owned by the Bullock family.
According to his obituary in 1925 and a 1912 biographical record in “The Book of St. Louisans”, Richard Benbow Bullock was born in Malvern, Worcestershire, England on March 19, 1842, the son of Richard and Violetta Bullock. He came to St. Louis in 1872 and married Sarah S. Absolom the next year. He started a dry goods business with H. J. Powell in 1872 and started his own company two years later, which he operated until 1909.
He started Bullock Realty and Investment Company about 1906, and it was continued by his sons Richard A. Bullock and George B. Bullock, along with their sister Violet’s husband Walter H. Kobusch. All three children and their mother Sarah built houses for themselves in the same neighborhood as this speculative house. I believe another company they owned was called Malvern Realty, but it never occurred to me that Guarlford was a place name. Thanks for the information!
There is another St. Louis connection in your area, as the Beringtons of Little Malvern Court are descended from John Francis Queeny, the founder of Monsanto Chemical Company here.

I have come to a bit of a block on my fathers line tracing his surname back. I am stuck @ 1849 and my GG grandfather, he now appears to be illegitimate. His 'father' was transported to Tasmania about 6/7 years before he was born :(
So I am looking now to see what I can find on his mother. Her name was Eliza Bullock b sometime around 1809 in Malvern or Gt Malvern according to census returns.
I have been unable as yet to locate her baptism or marriage to a William Tippin possibly around 1833 perhaps Powick ?
I do know her parents, from another census - HO107 / 2043 / 211 / 32, are Thomas Bullock and Elizabeth Handy. Thomas b app 1788 in Castlemorton and Elizabeth in Hanley Castle app 1794. I have a marriage entry for then @ Hanley Castle from 1818 but it gives no clues as to Thomas's father.
Looking @ IGI there are two possible baptisms, the one you list here as a sibling to Richard.
The other has parents Thomas and Sarah ( possibly Sarah Hyde ).
Could this Thomas be Richards uncle b1750? There is another marriage on IGI for a Thomas to Catharine Vickerage 1777, the on to Sarah being 1788. Could they be the same Thomas with my Thomas coming from the second marriage ?
