Title: Warwickshire County Police Force 1889
Post by: jean Sandra on Wednesday 15 September 04 09:33 BST (UK)
Hi,
an ancestor of mine was an officer serving in the Warwickshirw police force in 1889.
Does anyone know where records would be kept of officers and incidents?
I believe he was working out of Saltley Police station at one time and wondered what happened to records when that area of Warwickshire became part of West Midlands or Birmingham Police.
I would love to be able to consult the records.
Jean Sandra

HI
There are a couple of options.
1) you can register at
http://www.policeorders.co.uk/ and do a search through their records.
2) send a letter to the archives officer at the Warwick Police (assume they have a central headquarters - in Australia they have an archives section - assume it is the same in England)
Hope this helps,
Cougar in Oz
