Hi looking for Evans West Bromwich 1800 to 1900. Stokes of Sedgley, Anslow of Wednesfield,&Parkes of New Invention.

Hi Purdy,

I have a EVANS Family living in West Bromwich area in my husbands Family Tree from 1807.

There is a John Bartholomew Evans who was born in 1807 in Abergavenny Monmouthshire but was christened at ST Mary's in Blymhill Stafford. He married Mary A. Woods 12 July 1827 St Mary's West Bromwich. John was a Grocer and in 1841 lived in Goalgate Street. In 1851 they lived at 6 Goal Square.
Their children were:-
Eliza b 1828
Henry b 1830
Anna Maria b1832
May b 1834
John Thomas b1835
Elizabeth b 1836
Lucy b 1840
Sarah Jane b 1842
Robert b 1844
William b 1848
Arthur b 1851
All at West Bromwich. I hope this helps you, let me know if it does.

Thank you wendy for info but i think my evans goes back to 1804 with a Thomas born in west bromwich

I have a Mary Evans who was a widow when she married my 4x Grandfather Abraham Hartill in 1801 Rushall, both lived in Aldridge.
That is all I have on Mary, hope it helps. Heather

As a very recent guest member I have only just found your posting and don't know if you are still actively intersted.

Based on certificates I believe I am a direct descendant of John Bartholomew Evans b. Llanarth, Abergavenny c1806, d. Uttoxeter 1866. via his son William.  I live in North Wales.

My present interest is establishing JB's origins. I can find no record of his birth in LLanarth.

My wife descends from John B's son John Tasker Evans (1838-1890).  He was the Mayor of Stafford in 1881.  I've had no joy finding anything more about John Bartholomew Evans other than census details 1841, 1851 & 1861.

I am the geat great great grandson of John Bartholomew EVANS referred to in a post by you a few years ago.   Does your husbands research show any light on his origins, please.
