I have been told that I am descended from Thomas Askey (Askins, Erskine) who was born between 1727-1730 in Antrim. He married Elizabeth Baker in 1764 in Cumberland Co, Pennsylvania, USA and died in 1807 in Centre, Penn, and is buried in the Lick Run Presbyterian Cemetary. One of his son's, William, my gggrandfather used all three surnames until retaining the original Erskine. He apparently was the only sibling who chose to call himself Erskine--the others retained the Askey name that his father used after first arriving in the US. Anyone know anything about a Thomas Erskine born around 1727 in Antrim? Marie Sue

There are some blanks to be filled between your Thomas Askey (Askins, Erskine) who was born between 1727-1730 in Antrim and the line in which
I am interested - also in Co. Antrim. The Christian names running through your family may possibly, but it is a long shot, throw some light on whether or not there is a link. http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,52588.0.html
I have a Thomas Erskine born about 1801 so we have 70 years to fill to see if we can make a connection. There are also several Erskines from Co. Down. Margaret Gordon Erskine was a close friend of my Mother. http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,52818.0.html
