My husband's gt grandmother was a New Ross Whitty - probably at the other end of the social scale at the time!
One day I'll research them!

				My great-great-grandmother was a Margaret Whitty from New Ross. She married a George Hart Hughes and they both emigrated to Canada. I don't know whether they were married in Ireland or later in Canada.
