Greetings All, :)
Sorry to start a new topic but for some reason my computer doesn't like the topic of Crawforth by John and Pauline and shuts down everytime I go to that page :(
I have managed to trace my ancesters back to mid 1700's and then it gets a bit confusing.
We now go back to Matthew and Hannah Crawforth. We think almost certainly they are either Crawforth cousins that married each other
Matthew was born c1761 in Paull Hannah c1765 Paull.
They married at Keyingham 1785
It gets muddled as there there is what could be another Matthew and Hannah who may have married 1785 also at Keyingham
If it is this second pairing or the dates are wrong and they are both the same couple then Matthews parents could be William Crawforth/Crawford and Sarah Robinson. Hannah's parents may be Thomas Crawforth and Hannah Meek
Has anyone got anything that ties in with this or how this could be solved? ???

Hi Lin
Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.
Have you made any progress, or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes

Hi Lin
You say that there MAY have been two marriage for a Matthew CRAWFORTH/Hannah at the same place in the same year - a check of the original parish registers should confirm this. The same goes for baptisms of the children - check the original source if you have not done so already. If there were two couples of the same name having children at the same time in the same parish it is possible (not inevitable though) that there is some indication of this in the register.
Hope this helps

Greetings Ticker and Casualguidi, :)
No worries, I don't expect immediate solutions. Our last brick wall took 20 years to solve. :o
I got the internet my dad asked me to put out feelers and that brick wall came tumbling down.
I think my answer is to physically go to Paull, Hull and look in Parish Records in area and have a look around some graveyards too.
Trouble is finding the time and means of getting there!! Hubby not really interested in genealogy so can't see him being willing to drive us up there. Dragging the kids on public transport is not my idea of fun!! I'd love at least a week there to give me time to do all I'd like to do.
So this will have to wait too which is extremely frustrating but that's how it is when you have a young family! Meantime I'll have a go trying to fill in other branches.
In the meantime I think I was hoping someone would have some info possibly.
You never know what may turn up!

Don't get to excited but I think I may have made a bit of progress. Have made contact with someone who has connections with Matthew and Hannah Crawforth. I really hope this works out and I can get a bit more info. :)
Hopefully then can make any connections and share information.

hi All,
Do you know it's so long since i posted her due to computer problems that I can't remember who I'd found the link with!! ;)
However leading on from that have made several links now with people who are connected with Matthew and Hannah CRAWFORTH.
The concensus seems to be that Matthew and Hannah were cousins. It is very likely that Hannah's parents were thomas CRAWFORTH and Hannah MEEK. Also Our Hannah seems also to be registed as Annah or Anna.
