Has anyone any information about Coppice Houses Dawley ?
My great grandfather Richard Poole , occupation charter master , and his wife Mary with children Albert ,William , Robert ,Thomas , Mary , Richard (my grandfather ) and Frederick were listed there at the 1881 census .
In the same census there was also the family of Noah Attwood at Coppice Houses .
I have recently found that in 1937 at Wishaw , Scotland a Catherine Poole married Noah Attwood son of Noah Attwood of Coppice Houses .
I would be most grateful for any information of Coppice Houses or of the families of Noah and Catherine .
Regards , David Poole .

Try putting 'Coppice Houses' in the search Rootschat box (see top of page). There was a discussion a few months ago, as several members had families with this address.

Also: if I have this right, Richard and Mary's son Albert was my great grandfather:
Richard (bap. 12 April 1835, d. 1899) Old Park Dawley
Married Mary Ellis (b. 1837/8-1903) 22 Mar 1858 in Shifnal.
Richard and Mary have, in Dawley Magna, Emily (bap. 3 April 1859), Albert (1860/1 – 1927); poss an 1858 Albert too; maybe he died and name re-used?), William (1863), Robert (1867), Thomas (bap, 3 October 1869), Mary A (1872/5), Richard (1876) Frederick (bap 23 Mar 1879).
In 1881 census, Richard is a Charter Master (Mine Ser) living at Coppice Houses in Dawley.

Good Afternoon
Just a little on the Noah Attwood and Catherine Poole family
Noah born 2.01.1906 Wishaw 26 Castle Hill Terrace s of Noah and Hannah Attwood nee Gutteridge, puddler.Parents married (according to birth Cert )10.11.1893 Carmarthen . He died 17.1.1988 at Motherwell.
The marriage supposedly took place at the Coop hall 27.8.1937.
Father Noah born 1865 Dawley is the one living at Coppice Houses in 1881.Noah died 14.9.1927 Wishaw 7 Pather Buildings.
Catherine Poole 1909 Overtown Wishaw -15.12.1971 is the daughter of John Ian Poole and Sarah Emma Ward.
It looks like the couple married at Tipton St Martin 11.12.1882
John Poole 19 ironworker Tipton s of John Poole miner
Sarah Ward 19 Tipton d of William Ward labourer.
Not getting a connection on the Poole side to Coppice Houses but John Poole is quite a common name. There seems to a Joseph Poole born 1852 living with them but being on the Scottish censuses it just says born England.
Sorry not to be of more help.
