Title: Sunshine family
Post by: bjo on Friday 23 December 05 17:35 GMT (UK)
I'm trying to find my Sunshine family.
It appears that the known family originated in London in either Whitechapel / Mile End area or around Spitalfields.
I am getting the feeling that either there were two main Sunshine families in London or two branches of the same family.
A lot of the Christian names are repeated across the two families.
With such an uncommon name so far I have determined most of the family in 1851.
Any information on this name from 1841 would be appreciated.
Thank you
Brenda

Thanks again Rosemary,
I have now been able to identify more of the names that you gave me from the 1841 with members of my Sunshine's.
I still think that they are all related somehow.
Will continue hunting.
Thank you again
Brenda

Hi, I think your Sunshines might be related to my Wests! On the 1851 census, William Sunshine and his wife Charlotte were listed as having George West and his wife Mary living with them in Great Pearl Street. He's listed as father in law.

George was the father of Mary Ann West who married James Watson in Stepney in 1844 and he's my 4x great grandfather.

If you've come across anything in your research that might be useful, it would be much appreciated and happy to share anything we have if it helps you.

All the best
Karin

Hi Karin,
Yes the Sunshines are related to George West.
I can send you my notes on that line of the Sunshines and Charlotte West if you are interested.

Kind regards
Brenda

Good morning .
 the Name Sunshine .
The earliest records I have is 1545 Salzburg Austria. we were Ashkenazic Jews we spoke Yiddish. Please read some of your history. we travelled Northern Europe to Austria from Rome.  I will now take our family history up on our arrival at Whitby 1706 . the family travelled to London . If you are in our family then we were fishmongers. Hope this helps in your quest

Hi and Welcome to RootsChat  :D :D

Your William and (Ann) Charlotte are a different couple to the ones mentioned previously on this thread.  Their couple was William SUNSHINE and Charlotte WEST who were married in 1844 in Hackney.  Your couple were married in 1869 in Bethnal Green, William Robert SUNSHINE and Ann Charlotte JAMES.

Their children:
