My grandad was Thomas Ganleyborn 1863,sligo? died in scotland 1948,married to Elizabeth m,s,williams in the USA 11/2/1896,Massachusetts.His Father was bartholomew,born 1830? married toEllen m,s,Scanlon,can anyone go further back,appreciate any info,Tam Ganley

Hi Tam,

I rec'd a death certificate today for Mary Gandley who died March 8, 1874 in Stone, Staffordshire.  Wife of John Gandley, Labourer.

I know my Gandley/Ganley's were in Stone.  I did a check for a marriage of John Gandley to a Mary and the only one I found right now was John Gandley and Mary Scanlan.

Not sure where any of this fits in, but thought I would let you know.

Turns out she's not my Mary that I wanted (looking for one married to Matthew), but a Mary Gandley nonetheless  ;D

Hi Tam,
I'm July. We are related. My great great grandfather was Michael Francis Ganley brother to your great grandfather Thomas, son of Bartholomew and Ellen. I'm trying to go back too on Ancestry web site. There's many Bartholomew Ganly it's hard to know witch one is the good one.
I have Bartholomew Ganly 1791-1840 married Honor Mary ?? 1793-1870 has the parent's of Bartholomew Ganley 1827.
