I have been having trouble locating some of my maternal family. I know...
George Kitson got married on 1/1/1913 (or it may be 1915, the copy i have isn't clear) to Elizabeth Perkins (in Sheffield). He was aged 28, giving him a birth year of 1885 (or 1883) reference is vol 9c, page 655, which states 1913 (but it does look like 1915)
His father was William Henry Kitson, a file cutter (I think). I can't find anything else on them though.
Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated. I have looked on the 1901 census but can find nothing relevent

Hi eesablade,
I've had a look at the marriage indexes and can confirm that George KITSON married someone with the surname PERKINS in the 1st quarter of 1913. The marriage was registered in the Ecclesall B. district.
The only George KITSON of about the right age (7 in 1891) with a father called William is in the 1891 census for Marr, Yorkshire but William's occupation is recorded as Farm Labourer.
Do you think this could be the family?
Regards,
Al

From FreeBMD this would look to be the George of the 1891 census entry's father's death registration.
Kitson, William aged 38 December 1887 Volume 9c page 335
Not a William Henry, but if George's father died when he was only 5 he may have been confused as an adult, about his father's full name, particularly since he did have an older brother called William Henry who he may have thought was named after his father.
