Title: Wines and Vagg in Sth Petherton

Hi everyone.  My ancestor Rebecca Wines nee Vagg died in Sth Petherton March 9th 1860.  Could someone please tell me if this is too early for a registered death and if not what information could I expect to find on her death record?
Also, I would be very happy to hear from anyone else looking for the families Wines and Vagg in Sth Petherton.

Hello Anne,

Death Certificates are available from 1837. I have one in front of me for 1873, and the headings are...

When and where died
Name and surname
Sex
Age
Occupation
Cause of death
Signature, description and residence of informant
When registered
Signature of registrar

They didn't include date and place of birth until 1969.

Hi Anne, I am in Canberra. I am the great-great-great-granddaughter of Simeon Wines, son of James Wines and Rebekah Vagg. Simeon was sentenced to 14 years transportation in 1832, arriving in Hobart in February 1833.

I actually have a certified copy of the registered death of Rebecca Wines in South Petherton on 2 March 1860 (the death was registered on 9 March). More than happy to send you a copy if you haven't already got one. I would also be interested in exchanging any information about the Wines and Vagg families.

Hello Ann,
I have been reading your message with interest, i have  Betty Vagg born 1781 South Petherton her parents were Samuel Vagg and Betty her surname is unknown, she married to William Gifford in 1802, she died in 1864 South Petherton, William Gifford died in  Philadelphia, they had nine children.
