Title: Marriage puzzle - Crotch, Okehampton

Hi,

I don't know if anyone can help with this puzzle...

I have traced a line back to John Crotch and Elizabeth in the late 1700's in Okehampton.

I have found two possible marriages

John Crotch married Elizabeth Rice in 1779 in Okehampton
John Crotch married Elizabeth Chasty in 1784 in Okehampton

So, is this the same John Crotch?
And can anyone help me find the DOB of either John Crotch?

Any help, hints or info would be much appreciated.

You could apply to the appropiate Record Office and get copies of the marriages.  The later marriage may give the info that he was a widower or single.

I note that the parish registers for Okehampton have been filmed by the LDS so you could examine either the record itself or the filmed version at a family history centre.
