Title: Benjamin Illingworth
Post by: Jacsel on Monday 05 December 05 20:32 GMT (UK)
I am not sure I am on the right board here, but according to 2005 maps, Womersley is North Yorks!

I am trying to find more details on Benjamin Illingworth who married Mary Unwin on 28th July 1825, Womersley, Yorkshire.

Can anyone please tell me where the Womersley Parish Records are held?

If anyone is able to do a look-up for me, I would appreciate it, I need to know Benjamins date of birth, and especially his parents names, etc.,

Hi there
According to GENUKI Womersley records are at the WYAS at Wakefield. At one time it might have been in the North Riding even tho it is geographically much further south and only 5 miles from Pontefract.
Best wishes

Hello Jacsel

Womersley is covered by Pontefract FHS they have a good web site and a chat line.

                   http://freespace.virgin.net/richard.lockwood/

They have a baptism booklet of Womersley St Martins 1776 to 1848 for about £3. Marriage index to 1812.  Land tax booklet 1797 to 1825 etc, I might get commision if I keep this up. I have dealt with them, put all your query's in a letter or on the chat line, they are very helpful.
They will also do a surname search for £2 prior to 1837 of Parish Registers.

Regards Oly
