Does anyone know how I can get hold of COI marriage records for Cavan? My local family history centre has a record of Irish marriages from 1854 but I haven't found out whether other years can be ordered. As my great grandparents could have married anytime between 1848 and 1860, it could prove quite costly to order all the films even if they are available.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for this. Yes, I have already looked at this site in great detail but there is no trace of my great great grandparents. Although they lived in Cavan for most of their lives, I suppose there is always the possibility that they were married elsewhere. I have ordered their death certificates from the GRO and am hoping that they may give some clues as to where I can look next.

The staff of the RCB Library in Dublin don't carry out research so you will either have to go there yourself or hire a genealogist to go there and do the research.

Hi i am also interested in Cavan, i'm looking for Mc Cormack's or Mc Kabe's ( Mc Cabe )- spelling unsure.
If you come across either of these names whilst searching i'd be grateful for anything you may find
