Title: Cumberland OPC website, Carlisle St Cuthbert's MIs
Post by: GalaxyJane on Thursday 01 December 05 15:41 GMT (UK)
Hello, everyone,
Does anyone know if the person who is offering the full transcription of the St Cuthbert's MIs linked to the above site, is still doing so?
I sent an email to their address which is linked to the page,
http://www.cumberlandandwestmorland-opc.co.uk/st_cuthberts.htm
but though it hasn't bounced I have heard nothing in over a month.
Failing that, does anyone know of an alternative source?
There are two names on the index that are intriguing the life out of me
                      Many thanks for reading this
                                          Jane

Many thanks for this, Jim. Very good of you to take time to pass on the information --- I really appreciate it. I see that the contact details are the same, so I shall just have to wait till he gets a spare moment, I guess.
I was also pleased to see the Cumberland newspapers link at the bottom of your message as I had just come across a few Cumberland Paquet references I was wanting to look up -- nice bit of serendipity there
                     Regards
                           Jane

Hi Steve

Can you please tell me if you had any input into the "Egremont Cemetery Database" CD as I have a technical question re the running of it.

Many thanks for letting me use your thread.

Little Lil

Just wanted to give a public thank you to Steve who has kindly looked up the MIs I was after. I am posting my reply in the remote chance anyone else is looking for the same information       ,
I am eternally in his  debt for this .
The word Woodbank is what I was hoping to see, as it ties these Anguses in with my William Angus, born abt.1810 at Woodbank according to census entries, for whom I've not been able to find a birth record.
There are very few Anguses in this area, and Henry seems also to be the right age to be the Henry Angus who married in Nottinghamshire, had half his family there and the rest in Cumberland, but as I say, so far no connection to the William Angus in my tree. The Elizabeth could be his wife, she was from Bulwell, don't suppose this is what got noted as New Village?? A younger Henry, one of the Cumberland offspring  is still at Woodbank in 1841. William is down the road at Blackwell. It certainly walks and quacks like a duck.
Thanks again for this, I really appreciate your time and trouble.
                                                       Best wishes
                                                                 Jane
