Hi
Has anyone any ideas what this forename is please, I can read the '-innetta' bit but what on earth is the first letter supposed to be?
Would appreciate any help at all

Could it be an N with an extra squiggle on the end, before the i?

Hi Prue
I wondered that at first but then further over on the page is the word Nephew and the enumerators N is quite distinctive.
Here's that part of the image, what do you think?

HI,
the only letters which don't appear on the page in a capital form are
c f i k l o p q t u v w x z
The only one which appears with large amounts of hits on Google is Vinnetta and is listed as a name for many of the entries.
However, the entry really doesn't look like Vinnetta. I still think it looks more like an N, but you are right that doesn't compare with the nephew entry.
Do you have the reference for the census so someone can look at other pages the same enumerator has written for a wider comparison?

Alternatively, look for a Rogers birth in the right place, right time and see which ...inetta's jump out at you? Or have you her on another census for a second opinion?

Hi Sue
The reference is
RG10 Piece 1717 Folio 52 Page 14
The village is Little Waldingfield, Suffolk
I agree it doesn't look like Vinetta, I was thinking maybe Winnetta, I know the W's on th epage are a little different but thought it might just be a scribbled W
Thanks for trying

Hi Pauline
Why didn't I think of that, found her on the 1881
BONETTA ROGERS
What do you think, could it be BONETTA?

Hi
Thanks for that, as the transcription asks for whats on the page I think I'll put down Binnetta and add the BERNETTER in the notes.
Thank you so much for that, I really am grateful

I suggest it is a mispelled Ninetta.

I believe it to be Birnetta.
The capital is a poorly formed B. The . over the r has a similar misplacement as the . over the a in William 5 places up and the . over the a in Maria a further 3 places up.

Hi,
It maybe Dinetta, my sister-in law is called Dinetta and she has a similar signature to that scanned on the screen
