Hello Linda
Pentwyn was a popular name for farms.
There were Pentwyn and Pentwyn Isaf to the west and north of Pentwynmawr ..
Also Pentwyn and the Pentwyn inn at Trinant. I haven`t been to Trinant for a few yearsso do not know if the inn is still open.
you can see them all on the following site

You don't mention dates, Linda, but there is a Richard TREASURE living at Woodland Terrace, Penmaen in the 1901 census. At that time he is a coal miner underground.
Don't know whether this might be the same man?
kind regards, Arranroots ;)

In 1881 there is a Richard TREASURE senior "sinker of coal pits", living with Richard jr & the rest of the family at Pont Fan, Blackwood.

In 1971 Richard snr & family are at the Parrot Inn, Blackwood.

Richard's father was William (1851 census) a collier who came from Somerset and his mother Ann came from Rhymney.

Hi Arranroots
Thank you for the info. The dates My GtGrandfather was working for Mr R Treasure was 1910 to 1914. He was employed by Mr Treasure on the Houses at Oakdale terrace Penmain. Before that He worked for a Mr Newcombe helping build the Engine House at the Colliery at Oakdale, He was employed then from 1908 to 1910. My GtGranfathers name was Thomas Treasure I obtained this info from a diary He wrote.
Regards Linda.
PS his trade was a Stonemason.
