looking for any morrisons related to Elijah morrison from Kirkintilloch ..there is 2 of them father and son in my family tree..father b 1865 son b1897.. any help i am from canada.. Barb ???

Hi Barb,

I had a look for your Elijah Sr. in the 1881 census - nothing appears for Scotland or England.

Was he born in Ireland?  Or perhaps he was away Kirkintilloch at the time of the census.

I think have found your Elijahs!!!

I have birth certificate of Elijah MORRISON b.28 JAN Birdston, Campsie, Stirling ( near Kirkintilloch!!). This was where my grandparents lived also Morrison but I dont think related...

Parents were Elijah MORRISON Ship Steward and Barbara MORRISON ms MILLIGAN marr. 21 NOV 1892 Glasgow.

I also have another Elijah MORRISON b 1 MAR 1862 31 Salisbury Street Glasgow.

Parents were Robert MORRISON Cartwright Journeyman and Elizabeth  MORRISON ms TURNER they were married on 28 Dec 1860.

Birth reported by Robert MORRISON father on  3 March 1862 at Glasgow Asst Registrar Jas M Thompson District was Hutchesontown

If you look on the map you will see that  Birdston and Lennoxtown are very close to Kirkintilloch. Birdston was a hospital which my gran worked in when she was living in Kirkintilloch

I think my mother is the Veronica O'Shaughnessy you are looking for.  She was born 1944 in Scotland.  Her mother was Marion Bryce Morrison and her father was Stanley O'Shaughnessy.  We knew her to have a brother named Stanley, and two older sisters named Barbara & Marion.
