Hi There!
Does anybody know about photographers in Hull and Scarbro mid to late 1800's?
My family had photos taken at James Walker in Hull and at G. Willis 32 St. Nicholas Cliff, Scrarbro.
Would their records be lost and gone forever??

With the Hull one, can you narrow down the date range? And is there an address of any sort to go with the photographer's name? It would be possible to find James Walker in directories of the time, but you'd be very lucky to find any records of his studio surviving.

Hi Suttontrust !
The Hull photos would be around 1850 to 1890. Address looks like Antalby Road and 14 Saville Street Hull.
Thanks again

Okay, try the historical directories site, and I will look him up at the weekend.

James Walker is in the 1882 Hull directory on Anlaby Road, but not on the 1892.

Thank you suttontrust ! :)
For finding that one in Hull for me!
I have a group family photo taken by G.Willis in Scarbro and I've managed to date that photo to early 1881.
Thanks again,
