Hi
Thanks for doing the look up, unfortunatly it is the wrong family, there was another William born 2 years before my william, it is his family you have found. On later census's william is down as a butcher, so could you send me the details for Thomas Bean butcher and family, i have my fingers crossed this is the right family because i am haveing problems tracking his family down. Thanks again

In the village of Grimstone at Grimstone Lodge School
is a boy De?? Bean age 13.
Cant make out the name but its not William.
Benjm Bean 40 Farmer
Ann 40
Alexandra 18, Jane 16, Geo 13, Sarah 8, Benjm 4, Rebecca 1
All Bean and born in County
Thats them all in Ulleskelf
William Bean, marriage, 1848 Sept quarter, Tadcaster, reference, 23 page 559
On the same page is Mary Ambler, coincidence that the Amblers lived next
door but one to Thomas Bean the butcher. The pity is like William she is away
from home when the 1841 Census was taken.
The marriage certificate would be a nice read.

Hi Oly
Thanks for looking again for me, i was really hoping William would be with Thomas Bean. I have found the Mildred you mentioned is Benjamin Bean's sister.
Would you mind one last look up for me please? On the 1851 census, William Bean is down as been a servant in Colton, maybe he is living there in 1841.
Thanks for the Croft look up as well

Hello Alison
Recap
1851 census William Bean is at the farm of Christopher Todd in the village of Steeton
Sarah Oliver is a female servant in the house.
1841 census Mary Todd age 15, which means 15 to 19 is the Farmer in Steeton. Also in the house is Sarah Oliver female servant. No Christopher Todd who would have been 55 or William Bean.
Mary must have been put in charge while dad was away perhaps with William Bean. I did check Colton, which is the Civil Parish, and a couple of other adjacent villages.
I think you must wait until a full 1841 Index of Yorkshire is available to find the elusive William Bean. I enjoyed my trip round the villages, not been there for years. Any other clues let me know, you have my interest.

Hi Oli
Thanks for looking for me, William has me baffled. I just need to make a solid conection between William and the man i think is his father, Thomas Bean the butcher.
I thought the census's would help but they haven't. I really appriciate your help though, i have been able to sort out who is who with the census info you gave me on the other Beans. If i find anymore info i will let you know. Bye for now
