Hi JP,
Your Harts need to go back at least one more generation before we might find a link.

My line of ancestors and their siblings go from an ancestor John Hart born circa 1665 to an ancestor's sibling baptised in 1809.  The line ends with Sarah Hart marrying William Olley in 1813, the Olleys then married into the Theobald line.

My Hart known locations are:
1627 to 1668 Great Waltham, Essex.
1689 to 1758 Panfield, Essex.
1788 to 1800 Braintree, Essex.

Please contact me if you get back to a time or place where we can compare notes.

Good luck.

Sorry I can't help you with  the Harts, but where in Derrbyshire are the Greens who are related to you.
I too am researching Greens, and wondered if there was any link which could be helpful as I am rather stuck.

Regards,

Derek

Hi Derek:
I am not sure if you were asking me about my Green's.
My Green's are from Littleover, Spondon & Michaelover and other closely related towns.
If I can be of assistance let me know.
Send me some names.
Thanks
Gail Kent

Re RUSH - I am researching descendants of Sir Thomas Rush of Sudbourne, Suffolk (c.1487-1537). These include a RUSH family who settled in Boreham and another that settled in Eye, from which latter 2 sons (Anthony and Francis) joined The Earl of Essex's "expedition" to Ireland. Anthony was killed in 1599 at the battle of Moyrie Pass and Francis was knighted in Maryborough (now Port Laoise) and granted lands as part of Elizabeth I's plantation policy.
Also researching descendants of William Rush, a cutler, of Colchester (c.1589-1641). His family, principally his grandson Samuel Rush of Southwark, Benhall and Great Gedham (1669-1724/5) became wealthy vinegar distillers. Sir William Beaumarice Rush (1750-1833) was an owner of vast estates in Suffolk, Essex and London.
Re HICKS - a Samuel Rush (died 1783 approx) married a Henrietta Maria Hickes.
Re CLARKE - is this the family of the Revd. Edward Daniel Clarke???

Hi Everybody, first let me appologise for not replying to you all sooner, but I had problems with my computor and had to take it back to factory settings which meant I lost almost everything, and I;m just getting back on track so now I'll try to reply to you all.

Rosemary..My Bakers are Emma b 1822 Boxted married Colchester, her father was George, birth year unknown, Emma had brothers Tom born 1824, Jonathan 1821 and Henry 1826, they are the ones I know of so far.

I have Alfred J Clarke, born Lowestoft in 1869 son of James Housego Clarke and Mary anne Hambling. He was one of 8 siblings and the family were involved in the fishing business, I believe. Not much other info about them other than some dates, which happy to supply if useful.

I reached Susan by the Hicks line, and have not investigated too far with the brothers and sisters yet, I dont suppose I've been a lot of help either, sorry :-\

Hi Mary Jane,   I'm not too sure where they were actually from, but I believe Hannah was born either Brightwell, or Shotley, Suffolk, but I dont know as yet where her father Robert was born, although he died at Nacton, Suffolk which is where Hannah was also living and died.

Hi I've come up against a brick wall!  I have the birth cert of my gg grandfather Edward Sallows Hicks and on it his fathers name is Joseph Hicks, Farmer. Can't find much more.
I have found where Edward was buried - St Nicholas Church, Hintlesham, he was married in Raydon, had one son Edward Sallows Hicks born in 1851 at Raydon and one son Edgar Timperley Hicks who was born in 1853 and died in 1854.
If anyone can help me that would be really great!
Tallie

Welcome to Rootschat  ;)

Timperley is a famous Hintlesham name - there is a housing development named for the family - just across the road from St Nicholas' - it might be worth looking further into this name too.

Hi
Thanks Pat.

There does seem to be a connection but proving the link seems to be difficult.
Been to archive records office in Ipswich today and looked through Parish records and have now found Edward Sallows Hicks' father - Joseph Hicks and his mother Frances Hicks late Sallows.  There are also births for John Hicks and Frances Hicks siblings of Edward.
So progressing slowly.
Also trying to find the father of Edward Sallows Hicks' wife - Eliza Sallows formerly Berry - his name is William Berry - a Miller (on marriage cert)
Any suggestions on where to look next?

Tallie

Hi, I have a William Rush Bruce 1788 Hintlesham married to Elizabeth (Late Finch) then married Maria Reeve, all around the Kersey/Hintlesham/ area.  Does this tie in with your Rush?  Thanks

I am researching some Harts in Suffolk - in the Brundish/Framlingham/Dennington area.

It gets hazy just after Anthony Hart (Born Brundish 1801) because his parents are named as John Hart and Mary Curtis - I think John was born c1759 and died in 1825 but would really appreciate any light anyone may be able to throw on this - could they be the same Harts you are investigating?

Thanks,
Paul
