Title: 1841 - Southampton - address given
Post by: Lewy on Tuesday 15 November 05 12:23 GMT (UK)
Hi everyone

I'm looking for George Thomas Lott in the 1841 census, Southampton. I know he was born circa 1828 in St Mary's (well, so he says on subsequent census) and that his father was Charles LOTT, a tailor. A poss mother for him would be Sarah - she was widowed by 1851 and was living at 30, Belevdere Terrace, St Mary's - if I could at least find her it might rule her out.

I would really appreciate any help with this one.

Kind regards
Lewy

Hello Lewy

I realise this request is now rather old, but in case you are still needing this information, I found:

1841 census :  Ho107.  P. 399/5  Fol. 8  Pg. 4

Totton, Southampton

LOTT
Charles   45  Corn Miller
Ann  50
Charles  20
George  10

all born county.

I appreciate Charles is not a tailor - but this is the only LOTT family I can see with a son George and father Charles in Southampton, and occupations changed often.

Hope it helps :)

Hi mum (again!)

I did not have this info so find it very interesting. I'll see if I can follow it up.

Many many thanks
Lewy
