I am having great difficulty finding my Hewett/Hewitt family in Chesham in either the 1851 or 1861 Census records.
In 1861 the the family would be as follows:
James Hewett, Abt. 38, Head
Mary Hewett, Abt. 39, Wife
Ann Hewett, Abt. 16
William Hewett, Abt. 13
Elizabeth Hewett, Abt. 11
Sarah Hewett, Abt. 9
Emily Hewett, Abt. 7
Jane Hewett, Abt. 5
The parents and and daughter Mary appear in the 1881 census as Hewitts, he is a farm labourer and the two Mary's are Straw Plaiters all born Chesham.
Any help on this one would be most appreciated.

Hi John
Thanks for the reply, I don't seem to have that connection as yet but it may pop up as I continue down that road? I will file it away for future reference as I am still entering more data on the Eggleton/Hewett/Hewitt lines.
Thanks for your interest and if need be I will get back to you again.
