I have Vicarys in my family tree, in Thorverton, Devon - then in Exeter later in the 19th century.

Possibly we have a link?

My 3 x gt. grandmother was Sarah Gale, who married William Weekes of Taunton on 21 Nov 1782 at Bishops Hull. I'm keen to find out more about her family. No records found in the Somerset Register Office.

Do you have any further Vicary info we could share. I have been doing a Vicary one-name study for some time now and have built up quite a sizeable collection of trees, info etc

Hi IanS
Welcome to Rootschat I am sure like the rest of us you will find plenty of people ready to help with your research on this wonderfully friendly forum  :)

Here are my Vicary folk for a start
Charlotte VICKERY married Charles French FOLLAND 17 Oct 1836 in Barnstaple Devon they had 7 children all but the first either in or on the way to Australia. Charles French FOLLAND
descends from my 6x Great grandfather so I haven't pursued Charlotte further

I followed a family of  a William DYMENT back to 1676 as our main line is Dyment from Beaford I thought they would connect but as yet have not found a connection but that family has:

Rose VICKERY born between 1786 1nd 1791(from 1841 census in Devon, her mother seems to be  ROSYMAN from the census but could have been Rosamond the census does not give relationships of marital state)
Rose married James GREENSLADE 25 Mar 1813 in Chumleigh Devon they had 9 children one Elizabeth married William DYMENT in 1837 Chumleigh
One of their children was Frank Benjamin Dymant he married Ellen VICKERY born about 1863  in York Sandusky Ohio They had 3 children In America that I am aware of.

Benjamin and Ann VICKORY were my husband's5x gt grandparents
They had 2 known children Jane born 1750 in Merton,Devon she married Anthony Crispin 27 Mar 1780 Dolton Devon they had 2 children.
Susannah Vicory was born 1752 in Merton Devon she had one son before she married Robert FOLLAND in 1784 in Dolton Devon they had a further 9 children and if required I have their tree down to our family I would love to know more about Benjamin and Ann but they have eluded me so far.
Would love to know if you trip over any of them during your hunt
