Title: DDRAIG Gr Gr Grandparents
Post by: deadants on Sunday 06 November 05 21:52 GMT (UK)
I'm posting this image on behalf of DDRAIG. He's gives a bit of background about the photo . . .

Quote
I realise that the photograph is washed out pretty badly, I will give you a bit of history of the photograph,it was in my forebears house during the last war and they were bombed out by German Bombers twice the first time pretty badly, they searched high and low to recover some of their posessions, they found the tin box that contained their personal papers including photographs squashed underneath six foot of rubble, the second time the bomb blew part of the house away and they found their tin box two blocks away with the contents strewn about the road, hence the very bad  state of the photograph.

So let's see how much can be recovered.

Not much to work with as deadants has already found too ... Especially the lady ...

Tried to bring out as much detail as possible and clean up a bit ...but still not left with too much ...

Kind Regards,

Gary Wilkinson

Hi Gary,
  Yes it's a tough one. The gentleman is not to bad but the woman is so faded I think a it of fancy manipulating is called for.

Kenhar, thats amazing ;)
If only ::)
Joking aside the lady in the original photograph is wearing a tiara with a jewel decoration draped down her forehead.
I just tried a colour wash on the entire Image, light blue, and it brings out more detail.

Having returned from a short break and on opening up my PC what a suprise, I would like to thank Gary, Man of Kent Kenhar,Scrattletrap for the improvement's made to the pretty washed out photograph of my forebears, you have brought out the likeness to both of the faces especially to my gr/gr grandmother looking at another photograph I have it bears a very good resemblance.
I would like to give a special thanks to deadants for his patience in dealing with me and for the time he spent advising me on certain aspects he was most kind.
Once again my thanks to you all.
