Title: 1891 london census lookup

I'm looking for Alfred Goldfinch and Annie Goldfinch in the 1891 census. They should be around the areas of Islington!

There's an Annie Goldsmith, 23, Servant, Single, born London, Islington living at 260 Pentonville Road, Clerkenwell, London (RG12/227).

Are Alfred & Annie husband & wife?

Hi Gill you are correct in saying they are married. You might want to concentrate on Alfred as he definately died in 1927 but Annie may have died before 1891.

I can find Alfred & Annie on the 1871 & 1901 Census in Islington, so Annie must have been alive in 1891, but I can't find them in 1891!!

I'll keep looking!

p.s. I do know that not all the 1891 Census is on Ancestry.co.uk yet as I also have 'missing' relatives, so it might be a case of trying again at a later date.

On the 1871 census were they living at 87 Bemerton street or were they at another address?

They are listed under GOLDFIELD in 1891.
Living at 149 Bemerton Street, Islington (RG12/156 Folio73 Page18).

Alfred     45    Dairyman        Born Dover, Kent.
Annie      42                             "    Stowmarket, Suffolk.
Luey?     21    Carman             "    Islington (entered as Lucy, son, but is Alfred L in 1871).
Alice        19    Shop Girl           "          "
William    11                             "          "
Herbert     9                             "          "
Florence    7                             "          "        Imbecile.


Would you like me to list the 1871 & 1901 Census information too?

On the same page at 113 Bemerton Street is their son William (entered as W F Goldfinch), 22, Carman along with his wife & 2 children.
