Title: Pack family Wollaston
Post by: Ringrose on Thursday 03 November 05 21:18 GMT (UK)
A ggggrandfather was Matthew Pack b 1776 in Wollaston to Nathaniel and ?. Can anyone look at the registers for me and find out his mothers maiden name . I think they married in 1766. I would also be interested in their parentage too.

Thank you

Ringrose

Hi Ringrose

I can see on Alan Clarke/Marilyn Ponting's marriage index the marriage for Matthew in 1802 but not for his parents.

Therefore they could have come in from over the borders.

Have you checked familysearch.org for them the LDS web site?

Cheers Sandy

Thanks for Pack info. I find it so frustrating not being able to find the mothers name.I have recently had a book on Wollaston from the inter library loan and Pack family were in the village as far back as the 1400s I have a long way to go.

This might help from the Northants Record Office:

Will of Nathaniel Pack of Wollaston, labourer proved 3 March 1817-

He leaves his property in Wollaston to his dear wife Mary Pack  until she dies then to his daughter Hannah Pack, subject to the payment of £3 apiece to his 3 children Thomas, Matthew and Mary and also £3 to his grand daughter Barbara Pack, child of his late son William Pack.
The will was written on 5 June 1812 and Nathaniel died on 29 June 1816.
