Hi Pootle, I also looked up the 1851 census for North Curry for you and discovered that there was only one John Derham and one Anne Pollard living in North Curry at that time.  The two families were on the same census and living in quite close proximity to each other, co-incidentally, both sets of parent share the same christian names!!!
Here they are (fingers crossed  ;) )

Glad to please... ;D I only came upon the request yesterday and so did the Somerset part yesterday South oZ time .....and finished the Wales part this morn.... Unfortunately I do not have the 1871 census for Somerset but it appears only 1 child born there anyway. It appears Mary Elizabeth became Polly and was just sitting here rechecking 91 to ensure the scan does actually say Feled and not Fred and yes I would have 2 agree it does look more like Feled but the z from Eliza does infringe and appear to b a L in Feled so personally I think it is Fred!.... but of course I can't c the 01 scan to check that one without tickling the Pro site with a fiver...lol
Home Schooling u must b busy
Good Luck to u Glad to please

:-[ Whoops!!!  sorry Kris, I just realised that I "doubled up" on your information.... :o

I saw the message without your reply and printed it off to do the look up later in the day and when I came back online with the results, I just replied to the message, without checking for other replies. (If that makes any sense??   ???)

Best wishes
Di xx

Can you help I am trying to trace the derhams from the Welsh side. My fathers mother was Maggie Durham who lived in Tonypandy, and had 2 brothers, Archie and Percy.

I think Maggie is the daughter of William Roy and Fanny Durham.

I have only joined this site this evening and my first discovery is a load of info on the Derhams. I am so pleased, thank you all so much. Ann Pollard was my g.g.aunt. and, although I knew she married John Derham, I did not know about all their children

Hi!

I am doing research for a friend, who's family was FOSTER from North Curry, and I have found one of them GEORGE FOSTER (b.1873) living with Frederick CADDY and his wife ANNE, along with Frederick's brothers in law HENRY DURHAM (b.1872) and GEORGE DURHAM (b.1878), and sister in law RUTH  DURHAM (b. 1881) all of NORTH CURRY. Are these DURHAM's related to you in any way, and do you know of any connection between the DERHAM/DURHAM family and the FOSTERS back in NORTH CURRY?

My friend seems to believe they were cousins at some time in the past?

Kindest regards

Cilla Thomas
