Eliza McStay, b: 1833 Lancashire
Roseann McStay, b: 1856 Lancashire
Margaret McStay, b: 1858 Lancashire

Many thanks!

Forgot to say...........John was a cork quarterer.

Back home in Salford:-

9 Cellar, Wheathill
Salford
Lancashire.

John Caster abt 1797  Lancashire, Head  Painter
Mary Caster abt 1803  Lancashire, Wife
Samuel Caster abt 1848  Salford, Lancashire, Son
Eliza McStay abt 1833  Manchester, Lancashire,  Head
Margt McStay abt 1858  Salford, Lancashire, Head

Eliza has no occupation listed and is living with the Caster family. Eliza is listed as head but the doc is not 100% clear and it could be "Header". Margaret has ditto marks in the same column.

Hope this helps.

The ref is -

Thanks a million Rose!!!!!

You have helped me find the rest of the family, plus others.

Don't know why this family was seperated at the time, but I'm sure they had a good reason.

This is fabulous!

Thanks so much;
Cas

Did your McStay's have any connection with Ireland (County Sligo?) or Scotland?  I know my G grandfather lived in Sligo in 1884 but can find no other family connections in that area.   I am wondering if he was an an incomer to Sligo - from another part of Ireland or elsewhere.
