Hi Chunkie

Hi Chunkie
Not found any photographs yet, they seem to be a bit thin on the ground, but still searching.

Hi Chunkie,
I thought I was sure I had a couple in my collection of Stirling, but no, upper bridge street seems a bit scarce, got the cosy end cafe at the bottom but its not during the war.
I can remember seeing a photo of the rag and bone (was that old Mrs Thomson's, dazzler's mother?) in upper bridge street but I cant for the life of me think where it was, I'll see if I can turn it up, but most of the pics seem to be of Whinwell home.
Meanwhile, the cottage at No. 30, 1980c.

on a lighter note,i used to love a fish supper out of the cosy end cafe.

A few years ago my brother-in-law gave me some cine film showing the demolition of the church that stood on the corner of Upper Bridge St and Cowan St.
It's an amateur film and shows some of the work each day as the job progressed. The camera must have been in an upper floor window at, or near the Cosy End.
Today's 'health and Safety' lot would have nightmares looking at it.
I transferred it onto VHS tape. I will have to think about converting it to DVD.
Cheers.
