Title: School Photo 1909

Was sent this recently, and I thought it was such a gem, I decided to post it here.

Not only do we have the photo itself, but also the names of the pupils and teachers.

The school is in Willoughby on the Wolds, Nottinghamshire; the photo taken in 1909. The assistant school mistress is the elder sister of my 2x gf, (The Elizabeth Wynne of my other posting Lizzie Wynne (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,99902.0.html))

What a great photo - with names!!

Pity at the moment about the only county my lot haven't ventured into is Nottinghamshire - but for those that do it's a good start!!

I would never have thought to look for old school photos - although I put mine from the 1950's on the "Friends" - even remember most of the names myself.
Great, I can remember 50 years ago but not 50 mins ago!!  ;D ;D

What a GREAT PHOTO & whats even better is that all the SCREATON family mentioned are my direct relatives.

My father is  Rex Derek William Screeton I have traced back the family to Richard Screaton 1420 Willoughby some 20 generations

The Screaton children are
Christopher Screaton born 1898 Willoughby
Nellie Screaton born 1900 Willoughby
Brother & Sister.
Father was William Screaton Mother Sarah Stokes.


Harold Screaton born 1897 Willoughby (cousin of the above), & brother
Archibald Screaton born 1899 Willoughby, Father Samuel Screaton & Mother  Mary Wakerley
 
Thomas & Amy Screaton Not sure of the dates.

I would love to receive a copy of this photo to add to our tree if that is possable
